THE PROJECT DECEPTION STORE
The Deception Store project was born from an idea of Marco Pantozzi, author of the music and lyrics of the album Pindaric Flights, the first album published and also sung in English by Pantozzi himself.
Joe Chiericati and Stefano Nicli worked on the first CD as producers, arrangers and musicians, respectively on piano / keyboards and on acoustic and electric guitars, with Thomas Ebner on drums and Teo Ederle on bass. In track 2 and bonus the female voice is by Roberta Staccuneddu.
The Project derives his name from the final metaphor of the song ‘One More Time’: the store of deception is every location or life situation were there are illusions masked by opportunities being offered. Inside you pay with dreams, but everything you get is disillusion. Todays society, taking a better look, presents an endless variety of it.
The music is a mix of melodic, electroacoustic Space-Rock, which derives from the 70s/80s of psychedelic Britain, especially Pink Floyd. Researched atmospheres and dreamlike intentions point directly to emotions, always staying on the path of intuitive listening which adapts to a vast type of crowd.

PINDARIC FLIGHTS is the title of the first album work of DECEPTION STORE project.
The "Pindaric flight" (in its origins, the writing style of the greek writer Pindar, within it’s works usually jumping from one slightly tied and incoherent topic to another) has nowadays generally taken on the sense of the flight of the fantasy, dreaming with open eyes.
The most beautiful and epic flight is the one that is born from our mind: travelling with imagination it lifts us from our generic life; daydreaming and chasing dreams, even the most forbidden ones, pushing to explore new horizons while leaving behind, though just for a moment, all of the problems and issues of the world.
Close your eyes and imagine that…

The CD talks about different situations were dreaming is the main character: from ‘I Do It My Way’, were the capability of seeing the world with the eyes of fantasy battles with our day-to-day fears, to the wish of a physical distant love (‘'Distant Lover'’), to the dream of becoming a ‘Rock Star’ or seeing the creation of a better world (‘A New World’). And even the insidious and illusionary dream of a simple, sudden richness found in gambling (‘One More Time’), the first single, of which a video has been made because of the emotional impact.
The graphics of the album have been created by Gigi Cavalli Cocchi, who is already an author of distinguished album covers: his own works like Nomadi, Stadio (to name a few) and the first four albums of Ligabue.
The album has been recorded at JAM Studios in Merano and it has been mastered by Elfo Recording Studio in Tavernago (Piacenza - I).

NEW ALBUM 2026

For his second Album Deception Store found itself working in Emilia: not only involving three times as many musicians, but also drawing on some wellknown names in the Italian prog-rock scene, such as Gigi Cavalli Cocchi, Vincenzo Ricca, and Max Repetti. These highly experienced artists regularly collaborate, or have often collaborated, with musicians of truly international stature such as Steve Hackett, David Jackson, Greg Lake, Ian Anderson, Tony Levin, Bernardo Lanzetti, Ligabue, and many others.
Precisely because of these numerous interconnections between different artists, but also because of the author's penchant for diverse musical genres (primarily symphonic soft rock, but also instrumental ambient and a certain type of singer-songwriter pop), the album will be titled "OSMOSIS": a true blend of different sensibilities, styles, and genres, resulting in a rich and varied body of work, capable of appealing to a wide range of tastes.
Compared to the debut album, Deception Store, it's worth noting that this album will be sung in Italian, rather than English, as was the case with the debut album, "Pindaric Flights." There will also be two entirely instrumental tracks, as well as two duets with two young singers.
The music and lyrics are by Pantozzi himself, with some co-writing by Vincenzo Ricca (The Rome Pro(g)ject), Max Repetti (Greg Lake, Annie Barbazza), and guitarist Mike Frajria, his first mentor. The album, 10 tracks totaling a full 43 minutes of music, was recorded at Elfo Studio Recording in Piacenza, under the expert direction of Alberto Callegari. "OSMOSIS," as with the previous album, will be released and distributed worldwide by the renowned Vigevano-based label "Ma.ra.cash Records," a leading Italian label in indie and progressive rock.
videoclips

The video of the single Track ‘One More Time’ (from Pindaric Flights) confronts a difficult and dramatic topic: the one of the addiction to pathologic gambling.
It’s the story of whom is loosing its own affections and liberty, to close him-/herself more and more into a prison of illusions and solitude, reoccurring - time and time again… - pursuing vain dreams of richness.
"It’s the store of deception, in which I’m loosing myself..."
Sponsored by the community of Merano for it’s social and artistic values, it was directed by Roberto Condotta, with the assistance of Nicola Morandini. The voice of the outside ‘machine’ has been supplied by the actress Daniela Scarlatti.
